T WORKS
UAV INITIATIVES
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Initiatives at T-Works are focused on adapting new technologies by pushing the boundaries of conventional UAV tech, primarily research and development of low cost, out of the box UAS solutions.
T Works aims to lower barriers by sharing designs, technologies, and best practices for anyone to build UAVs quickly at a low cost to accelerate the adoption of UAVs.
OUR JOURNEY
The UAV projects initiated at T-Works when we decided to put to test conventional FDM printing for airframe construction.
So far we have built 4 fully 3D printed UAV’s, through which we have been able to validate and structure the use of FDM printing in UAV construction.
A Tail-sitter VTOL aircraft that takes off vertically and lands vertically, a Heavy lift Multipurpose UAV with a payload capacity of up to 3000 grams, a high-speed model aircraft designed to capable of flying at speeds upwards of 150 km/hr were built and tested successfully. These will find applications in drone medical delivery to surveying.

LATEST PROJECTS
DRONE SEEDING
TWorks team designed and developed a payload to disperse seed balls in reforestation projects. Code-named Jungle Maker, involves a mechanism designed to plant up to 400 seed balls per drone flight at one ball per second capable of contributing greatly in afforestation.
VTOL
Our work at present is focused on developing a VTOL UAV capable of carrying a 3kg cold-chain payload. We have explored the two variants of VTOL’s - the tailsitter and quadplane. We are also in the process of developing a 4G/NBIoT communication module that will replace the conventional telemetry radios while enabling an ‘unlimited’ range.
